We are seeking a skilled and creative Podcast Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and a keen ear for audio quality. As a Podcast Editor, you will be responsible for editing and producing high-quality podcast episodes and clips that engage and captivate our audience. You will work closely with our content creators and producers to ensure each episode is polished and professionally presented.
Responsibilities:
- Edit raw audio recordings to create polished and professional podcast episodes.
- Add intros, outros, advertisements, and other audio elements as needed.
- Remove background noise, awkward pauses, and other audio imperfections.
- Balance and mix audio levels to ensure a consistent and pleasant listening experience.
- Create engaging and shareable podcast clips for social media and promotional purposes.
- Collaborate with content creators and producers to align with the overall vision and goals of each episode.
- Maintain an organized library of audio files and project archives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in podcast editing and production.
- Assist with the production and editing of other multimedia content as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Podcast Editor, Audio Editor, or similar role.
- Proficiency in audio editing software (e.g., Adobe Audition, Audacity, Pro Tools).
- Strong understanding of audio production techniques and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen ear for audio quality.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of podcasting trends and a passion for the medium.
- Basic knowledge of video editing is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with podcast distribution platforms and RSS feeds.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and strategies for promoting podcast content.
- Creative mindset with the ability to bring fresh ideas to the table.
Location: Fully remote (We are located in Calgary Alberta.
