Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of generator systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The work is residential and primarily involves routine generator maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and other basic service work.The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and technical expertise, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. This is a contract position, with room to turn to a permanent position for the right candidate!
Duties
- Execute routine service including oil changes, filter replacements, and spark plug tune-ups.
- Travel directly to customers' homes to conduct scheduled maintenance and basic service work.
- Troubleshoot, identify, and repair mechanical and electrical faults in residential generator units.
- Provide exceptional service by clearly explaining technical issues and maintenance recommendations to homeowners.
- Test systems post-service to verify optimal operational efficiency and safety compliance.
- Complete precise service reports and log parts used for each service call.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in electrical systems, mechanical repairs, or automotive repair.
- Hands-on experience working with heavy machinery or power generation equipment.
- Familiarity with the use of various hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of generators
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Customer service skills that facilitate professional communication with clients.
- Experience in sales support or understanding of customer needs related to generator systems is a plus.
