Bulldog Pub & Grill is Oshawa’s go-to neighbourhood pub, a place where regulars feel at home, first-timers feel welcome, and every shift is filled with energy. We’re proud of our community roots, our loyal guest base, and the team culture we’ve built. We work hard, we have fun doing it, and we hold ourselves to a high standard behind the bar and on the floor.
Job Summary
We’re looking for a Part-Time Bartender who brings skill, personality, and professionalism to every shift. You’ll be the face of the bar, crafting drinks, building rapport with guests, and keeping the energy right whether it’s a quiet Tuesday or a packed Saturday night. This isn’t just pouring beer; it’s creating an experience our guests want to come back for.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with speed and accuracy, using our Silverware POS system
- Own the bar experience — engage guests with genuine hospitality, remember their preferences, and make them feel like regulars
- Keep the bar stocked, clean, and organized throughout your shift; uphold our food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly, including tab management and end-of-night reconciliation
- Monitor guest consumption and apply smart serve principles to ensure a safe environment for everyone
- Restock beer, spirits, mixes, and garnishes; flag inventory needs to management
- Jump in where needed — we’re a team, and the best bartenders here are the ones who never stop moving
- Bring energy and professionalism to every shift, especially during high-volume Friday and Saturday nights
Requirements
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience is preferred, especially in serving or bartending roles
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar cashiering tools
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously
- Knowledge of food safety, food handling, and responsible alcohol service practices
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing tabs
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during shifts
- Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility for evening or weekend shifts as needed
- Prior experience in hospitality or food service is a plus but not required; training will be provided for specific duties
What we are looking for
- Previous bartending or bar service experience in a fast-paced pub, sports bar, or restaurant environment
- Smart Serve certification (required or willingness to obtain before first shift)
- Comfortable on a POS system — experience with Silverware or similar is a bonus
- Strong multitasker who can hold their own behind a busy bar without losing composure or hospitality
- Cash handling accuracy and a reliable, honest work ethic
- A natural people person — you read the room, adapt your energy, and genuinely enjoy connecting with guests
- Available for evening and weekend shifts, with flexibility during peak periods and events
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-energy environment
This position offers an engaging environment where your hospitality skills can shine while providing memorable experiences for our guests.
