NL Dairy Co-op provides a unique opportunity for you to contribute to the local dairy industry. It is a newly formed co-operative, established by 19 NL dairy farmers which has a binding agreement to purchase Agropur Co-operative’s NL dairy processing and distribution business, including the Central Dairies brand. Our vision is for NL Dairy Co-op products to be the first choice in the dairy aisle, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the local dairy industry. We are building a local team that will operate the only dairy processor and distributor 100% owned and operated by Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.

POSITION PROFILE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk who is detail oriented with a passion for accuracy to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks. Reporting to the Manager of Finance and Information Systems, our ideal candidate has proven hands-on experience with a strong numerical aptitude. You will play a key role in ensuring that the organization’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
You will be responsible for:
· Daily entry of financial transactions in database
· Prepare bank deposits, General Ledger postings and statements
· Reconcile accounts
· Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations
· Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
· Prepare reports as required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Diploma in business, finance or accounting; will consider equivalent combination of education work experience
· 1+ years of experience in similar roles
· Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other accounting principles
· Payroll experience considered an asset
· Proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Proficient with use of MS Office and accounting software
· Experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
· Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with others
· Exceptional organizational skills
· Discretion in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
· Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the organization's overall success
