Overview
Quantum Technology is a global leader in specialized industrial gas applications, particularly Helium and Hydrogen. For 45 years we have been manufacturing premium Helium and Hydrogen liquefaction units, recovery systems and He production plants. We produce standard and custom solutions for any gas recovery, separation, purification and liquefaction.
Job Duties
- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and control strategies for Quantum projects, meeting performance and safety requirements.
- Support the electrical and control system design process, including drafting schematics, wiring diagrams, and control logic documentation.
- Conduct analyses and simulations to improve the efficiency and reliability of electrical and control systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and control system issues throughout project phases, providing technical support.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical and software) to integrate electrical and control systems into larger project designs.
- Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems, ensuring they meet project and industry standards.
- Provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in electrical and control systems, recommending improvements to enhance project outcomes.
- Strong PLC/HMI troubleshooting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.
- Strong preference for candidates registered as P. Eng with EGBC.
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably with a focus on control systems and industrial applications.
- Proficiency with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) and control systems programming (e.g., PLC, SCADA).
- Demonstrated experience in designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical and control systems for industrial projects.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with experience in troubleshooting technical issues.
- Effective team collaboration and communication skills.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in electrical and control systems.
- Experience with NFPA, UL standards.
- Familiarity with Siemens hardware (S7 1200 PLCs) and software (Siemens TIA Portal, Step 7 Basic, Win CC Basic) or similar packages from other suppliers.
Strong preference:
- Experience with hazardous locations
- Experience with gas systems
Nice to have:
- Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Experience with Cryogenics
