The Quality Improvement PSP coordinates and facilitates initiatives to improve patient experience, safety, outcomes, access and integration. This is achieved by guiding teams through systems level evaluations of current processes to identify opportunities for improvement. As a leader in the development and promotion of best practice in quality improvement, the PSP will use quality improvement and project management methods and tools in collaboration with leaders and teams to develop, coordinate and facilitate the provision of quality improvement services at the unit/team, program and corporate levels.
Bachelor’s degree required - Degree in health care related field or equivalent preferred
3-5 years experience in acute health care setting or equivalentwith demonstrated understanding of the patient care process
Proven experience implementing continuous improvement strategies at direct customer level, combined with the ability to explain it in layman's terms.
Experience in Quality Improvement methodologies.
Experience with performance measurement, data reporting and analysis.
Demonstrated project management experience and facilitation skills.
Certification in Quality Improvement Methodology and/or practical demonstration of in role application of quality improvement principles.
Experience with waste reduction, standardized work, one-piece flow, just in time production, 5s, trying to keep WIP to a minimum, inventory reduction, etc.
Advanced process analysis and design expertise.
Ability to guide teams to find simplicity in complex systems
Expert knowledge of quality improvement methods, tools, and frameworks
Excellent problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills
Demonstrates ability to manage change effectively
Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at a time

Skilled in the use of MS Office, and project management/planning/tracking tools

Demonstrated commitment to continuing education
