Job Statement
As the Line Team Leader, they will be involved within the Production department working on various lines. The Line Lead Hand will be a working leader responsible and accountable for organizing and motivating a strong team of workers in order to produce consistent quality of work and continuously produce the required volume of work to satisfy the production schedule.
Essential Functions
- Verify date-coding setup of ramekins, cartons and cases and metal detector
- Ensure the Pallets have the traceability factors
- Meet production standards on all assignments within a reasonable time
- Supervise line staff, train and instruct new staff on proper procedures, specifications and requirements
- Perform any specified quality assurance checks designated for each task, function or assignment
- Assure that all work assigned to the position is performed in accordance with specifications, instructions and requirements
- Ensure that work safety, food safety and personal safety requirements are met
- All other duties as required
Health and Safety
- Conduct all Job Tasks in a Safe and Responsible manner.
- Participate in all Health and Safety, GMP and HACCP training as required.
- Must monitor and ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures at all times.
- Report any accidents, incidents and unsafe/hazardous conditions to your supervisor.
- Report any damages of property and machinery to your supervisor.
- Ensure that you understand how and when to use the Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) that is located in your work area.
- Ensure you comply with OHSA, WSIB, MOL regulations and/or laws that govern “workers” responsibilities in the workplace and Comply with Tradition Fine Foods Ltd. Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP Programs
Physical Demands
- May be required to stand/sit for long periods of time
- May engage in frequent bending, stooping or squatting
- Due to the environment, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions which include extreme heat, humidity and cold
- Must be able to work in tight or enclosed spaces
Job Qualifications
- Good communication skills – written and verbal
- High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent (or a combination of education & experience)
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- 3 years of previous experience in a production environment (preferably food manufacturing)
- Ability to follow/give verbal & written instructions (in English)
- Proven ability to direct others and coordinate a department in order to meet production deadlines in a fast – paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow GMP and HACCP instructions
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Excellent time management skills
