Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Counter Salesperson to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, providing expert product knowledge, and driving sales in a fast-paced retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, sales experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Multilingual abilities and experience with renovation, construction, or high-end sales are a plus. The Counter Salesperson will play a vital role in enhancing the shopping experience through effective merchandising, product demos, and upselling techniques.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in selecting products and provide detailed product information to meet their needs
- Conduct product demos and upsell complementary items to maximize sales opportunities
- Manage inside sales activities, including order processing through POS systems and cash handling
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through excellent service and account management
- Utilize merchandising skills to ensure attractive product displays and organized shelving
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote new products and special offers
- Use CAD or SketchUp for visualizing renovation or construction projects when applicable
- Negotiate with customers to close high-end sales and ensure customer satisfaction
- Support outside sales efforts by coordinating with clients on larger projects or renovations
- Maintain organizational skills to keep the counter area clean, stocked, and efficiently managed
Experience
- Proven experience in retail sales, inside sales, or counter sales roles
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic math skills for transactions
- Knowledge of construction, renovation, or related industries is advantageous
- Experience with SketchUp, CAD, or merchandising is preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and upsell effectively in a retail setting
- Previous experience in high-end sales or product demos is desirable
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while providing exceptional customer service
Pay: $20.00-$27.00 per hour
