Our energy-sector client is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Support Technician to join its facility in Minnedosa, MB. This long-term contract is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, mobile equipment experience and general maintenance skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support journeyperson trades with maintenance work orders and general plant activities.
- Safely operate forklifts, front-end loaders, skid steers, riding mowers and street sweepers.
- Receive, unload and store chemicals, materials, parts and equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized warehouse.
- Perform general maintenance, including painting, minor carpentry, sign installation, mowing, sweeping, sanding and snow removal.
- Complete local pickups and deliveries using company vehicles.
- Provide planned vacation coverage for grain receiving and DDGS loading activities.
- Assist with grain grading, binning, shipment loading, receipts and bills of lading.
- Participate in permitting, lockout procedures, safety audits and other plant safety programs.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
- At least one year of experience operating forklifts, loaders or similar mobile equipment.
- At least one year of hands-on maintenance, handyman or carpentry experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use small power tools safely.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to organize competing priorities and perform varied tasks throughout the day.
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to work in a collaborative, self-directed environment.
- Grain-handling experience is considered an asset.
No formal trade certification is required. Candidates located in or near Minnedosa are strongly encouraged to apply.
Pay: $27.00-$33.00 per hour
