As a member of our team, you are responsible to alter, mend, modify, and construct garments and other articles according to NFPA 1851 requirements and customers' specifications and needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with all departments as a part of a strong team to accomplish the same goal
- Ensure attention to detail and perform a high quality of repairs
- Follow Sani Gear Repair Procedures in order to be NFPA 1850 compliant
- Maintain Sani Gear quality standards
- Complete full inspection of suits and enter into repair system
- Decide whether suit can be repaired immediately or if it requires a quote for approval
- Complete all required repairs
- Assess a repair and the most efficient way to complete repair
- Complete complex repair operations, i.e. Alterations, lettering, etc.
- Ensure everything is captured on the automation repair work order before processing
- Share process improvement ideas
- Operates, cleans and maintains equipment
- Perform other duties and special requests/projects as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated sewing skills
- Experience with industrial sewing machine is an asset
- Ability to distinguish between colours and textures
- Flexibility in job duties and shift hours
- Willingness to adapt to evolving job responsibilities and expand scope of experience
- Attention to detail, professionalism, friendly nature, and positive attitude is required
- Good grasp of the written and spoken English language
- General knowledge of computers
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Manual dexterity required to use equipment
- Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to sit, bend for prolonged periods
- Ability to lift and carry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
