We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Protein Purification Technologist to join our team and contribute to our mission of excellence in the manufacturing of biological reagent products.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Research and Development Scientist to join our innovative team. You will play a pivotal role in conceiving, designing, and developing experiments and tracing their progress from inception to completion. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring your ideas to life and help us transform patient care. This role requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct in-depth technical/scientific research to identify new products and solutions.
· Write, review, and execute experiments, protocols, and procedures.
· Review collected data and apply analytical reasoning and statistical analysis to derive thorough conclusions.
· Prepare reports and presentations to communicate results to key stakeholders.
· Assist in verification and validation activities (planning, review, and execution).
· Update and maintain lab binders, assist in material ordering, raw material inspection, perform receiving activities, assist in shipping activities, as required.
· Maintain production area in clean functional state. Clean experimental glassware and plastic ware, sterile glassware and wrapped instruments as necessary following good laboratory practices (GLP).
Minimum Qualifications:
· Degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or similar is required.
· At least 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
· Familiarity with laboratory techniques and general laboratory processes.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with protein biochemistry techniques, including chromatography (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion), electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE, Western blotting), and protein quantification assays (Bradford, UV-Vis Spectrophotometry).
· Proficient in techniques for monoclonal antibody production, purification, and detection, including hybridoma technology, antibody affinity purification, ELISA, and immunoassays.
· Skilled in laboratory techniques, with demonstrable experience and technical understanding.
· Project work experience is an asset.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow both written and verbal instructions.
· Strong time management and effective communication skills.
· Experience in handling biological samples and hazardous chemicals.
· Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS), specifically ISO 13485:2016 is an asset.
· Technical Writing Capabilities: must be able to write, comprehend, and defend; Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Protocols, Experimental Reports.
Compensation:
· Based on experience, 52,000 CAD/year, Full Benefits and healthcare spending account
