Job Overview
We are looking for a results-driven and safety-conscious Branch Manager to lead our Estevan operations. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing day-to-day branch activities, and upholding Walker Wellhead's high standards for customer service, technical quality, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is a local market expert with a strong background in wellhead equipment or oilfield services.
Responsibilities
- Branch Oversight: Lead and manage the daily operations of the Estevan branch, ensuring alignment with Walker Group corporate goals, service standards, and safety requirements.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new sales opportunities across the southeast Saskatchewan oil and gas sector; maintain and grow relationships with existing key accounts.
- Inventory & Equipment Management: Oversee regional equipment and parts inventory to ensure availability for critical client operations while optimizing asset utilization and turnover.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor branch staff — field technicians, inside sales, and support personnel — fostering a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and safety.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure all branch activities comply with Walker Wellhead's safety program, COR requirements, and applicable Saskatchewan OH&S legislation.
- Financial Performance: Manage the branch operating budget, monitor P&L performance, and implement strategies to grow revenue and improve profitability in the Estevan market.
- Strategic Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Walker Wellhead leadership team regarding market trends, competitor activity, client pipeline, and branch performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of managerial or senior field/sales experience in oilfield services, wellhead equipment, or industrial distribution. Direct knowledge of wellhead and surface equipment is strongly preferred.
- Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the Estevan and southeast Saskatchewan producing landscape, including key operators and service companies active in the region.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading teams, managing branch operations, or overseeing regional territories in oilfield or industrial services.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of wellhead equipment, Christmas tree assemblies, pressure control, and related surface equipment. Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Safety Commitment: Strong understanding of Saskatchewan OH&S regulations and a demonstrated commitment to maintaining a zero-injury workplace.
- Attributes: Excellent relationship-building skills, a hunter mentality for new business, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
