Position Summary
The successful candidate will design solutions, complete drafting and specifications, and administer contracts for various interior and exterior school renovations.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
-
liaising with school officials, educational program supervisors, internal departments, municipal authorities, and community groups to support design solutions for modernization projects
-
coordinating with external regulatory agencies to ensure modification projects meet code and regulatory standards

preparing drafting and specifications using AutoCAD and other software to produce contract documents for tender and construction

monitoring construction activities and costs for modification projects

reviewing and evaluating completed modification projects

preparing meeting minutes as required throughout construction projects

liaising with school officials and Division security services for contractor access protocols

liaising with Division occupational health and safety staff as required
Education/Qualifications
-
diploma in Architectural Technology or Interior Design Technology
-
minimum of three years related experience
- working knowledge of architectural design principles
-
basic knowledge of construction law, contract and tendering procedures
-
understanding of fire and building code requirements
-
knowledge of provincial construction, labour, and occupational health and safety regulations
-
effective administrative and communication skills
Rate of Pay
$38.81 - $49.36 per hour
