Kitchen Attendant, Blue Flame Kitchen

We’re looking for a fierce and friendly cook to join our diverse & vibrant team. This role is for the Blue Flame Kitchen. Days and hours are business dependent, but the hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 6am – 1am.
Reporting to the Chef Supervisor, the kitchen attendant will be responsible for maintaining a clean work area and willing to pitch in and help our fellow team members. Our goal is to make every customer experience memorable and keep them coming back for more. Blue Flame Kitchen employees are provided with uniform, receive complimentary parking, beverages & staff meal with an excellent work-life balance. We offer competitive wages of $18-21 hourly rate.
The Blue Flame Kitchen is our oldest brand, having been a part of Alberta for over 90 years. The Blue Flame Kitchen (or BFK as we call it), provides classes, recipes, cookbooks, take away meals, catering and delicious café services. On a daily basis, you’ll:
- Clean, sanitize, dishes, pots, pans etc. in our kitchen
- Complete light duty prep work: peeling vegetables, and portioning tasks
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager
- Ensure proper storage of food inventory and equipment according to AHS standard
- Wash /sanitize equipment according to AHS guidelines
- Package and label products for sales and shipping
- Track operational output measures (yield, quality, temperatures, etc.)
- Adjust dishwashing plans according to business levels
- Maintain personal hygiene and wellness
- Be responsible for closing and opening duties within the kitchen team
- Comply with food and sanitation regulation and safety standards

What you’re great at:
- Helping keep the dish washing area neat, clean, and organized
- Organize clean dishes in their proper place within our kitchen
- Support fellow team members with preparation work as required
What you have:
- Experience in a kitchen environment.
- Excellent understanding of dishwashing & sanitary requirements
- Prep work experience would be considered an asset
- Ability to perform duties quickly and under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Attention to detail
- Honesty, integrity, and ethical behavior
- High school diploma required
