As part of Human Resources, the Talent, Equity and Development function is a Centre of Excellence which supports teams across the university on the analysis, development and implementation of organizational design, employment equity and talent management activities, employee engagement and wellness practices and programs, as well as corresponding governance policies. The team operates as an internal consulting practice and works closely with HR partners and senior university leaders to support portfolio strategies and sustained performance. Through professional consultation and integrated program design, they support the execution of strategic goals, mobilize required global talent, and facilitate complex organizational development and change management initiatives.
The Talent, Equity and Development team is seeking a Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist to champion service excellence and support hiring managers and faculty selection committee with recruitment efforts which may include these five key areas: (1) Talent Attraction - Build a strong pipeline of talent through social media, referral programs, external partnerships and other creative recruitment strategies. (2) Creating a Great Candidate Experience - Champion a client focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader McMaster partnerships, systems, and knowledge. (3) Recruitment Support – support hiring managers by assisting with coordinating interviews, resume screening & candidate correspondence, conducting first level interviews and screening as needed. (4) Onboarding Support - Work with hiring managers to create an extraordinary onboarding experience for new hires. (5) Data Analysis - Develop robust metrics to measure talent acquisition effectiveness with a focus on continuous improvement that can reshape and rebuild existing standards and metrics.
The successful candidate has a passion for service excellence and talent attraction. You have had some experience leading and supporting full cycle talent acquisition (recruitment), and onboarding initiatives. You are a top performer in your current role with a proven track record of inclusive excellence, designing and implementing various recruitment and onboarding initiatives, and building strong and positive relationships. You have direct experience with client service, facilitating training, and delivering holistic talent strategies to assist leaders with attracting and identifying top talent.
