We have one position to be filled at Howard Park Children's Centre in our School Age program. We are located in Toronto, Ontario in the High Park Area. We are located in a public School. We are looking to hire an experienced early childhood assistants or RECE to enhance our program. Currently the hours are 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a possibility of more (7 hours on P A days and March Break) The ideal candidate will have prior experience in working with School Age children. You should be reliable, patient, and motivated. You should also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with children of diverse backgrounds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing a safe and engaging environment for young children.
Duties
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children in your care
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and educational programs
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and outdoor play
- Monitor children for any signs of illness or distress and provide appropriate care
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children in a caregiving or educational setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Ability to engage and educate children through creative and interactive activities
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children
- Ability to adapt to the needs of individual children and create a positive learning environment
- A diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field (not mandatory)
