Position Summary
The assistant reservoir engineer supports subsurface evaluation, reservoir performance analysis, and development, under the guidance of senior engineers. This role involves data analysis and reservoir modeling support.
Responsibilities (may include but are not limited to)1. Reservoir Analysis & Calculations: Perform basic reservoir engineering calculations; analyze reservoir and production data to identify trends and support optimization strategies
2. Reservoir Monitoring & Performance Evaluation: Monitor well and reservoir performance; assist in evaluating pressure, rate, and fluid data; support identification of production issues and improvement opportunities.
3. Reservoir Modeling & Development Support: Assist in building and updating reservoir simulation models; support field development planning, reserves assessments, and recovery optimization studies.
4. Data Management & Reporting: Maintain and update reservoir databases and simulation inputs; prepare technical reports, forecasts, and summaries of reservoir performance for internal review.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with geology, production teams to integrate subsurface and operational data; participate in multidisciplinary planning and development discussions.
6. Safety & Environmental Protection: Support responsible reservoir management practices in alignment with corporate HSE and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- University degree in petroleum engineering, or related field
- Recent graduate or up to 3 years of relevant experience
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Experienced with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with reservoir engineering software (e.g., tNavigator) is an asset
- Fluent in English and Chinese
Compensation: We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure, and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $3500 to $5000 CAD per month.
