Senior Family Paralegal - #5153
Our client, a downtown boutique law firm, is looking for a new Senior Family Paralegal.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage client files and maintain regular client communication.
- Schedule and coordinate discoveries, mediations, court appearances, and trials.
- Draft, prepare, file, and serve court documents, including pleadings, Notices of Family Claim, Responses, Counterclaims, Notices of Application, Application Responses, Affidavits, Orders, Trial Briefs, JCC Briefs, Form F8s, Settlement Offers, Mediation Briefs, and Expert Instruction Letters.
- Prepare and file application record binders, desk order divorces, and LTSA documents, including CPL registrations and removals.
- Maintain litigation deadlines for Supreme Court Family Rules (SCFR) matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare books of authorities.
- Draft correspondence to opposing counsel, experts, clients, and third parties.
- Organize document disclosure, prepare Lists of Documents, and manage document demands and responses.
- Coordinate expert reports, including Section 211 reports, appraisals, and income analysis reports.
- Prepare child and spousal support calculations using DivorceMate.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of the Supreme Court Family Rules, Provincial Court Family Rules, the Family Law Act, and the Divorce Act.
- 7+ years of experience as a Paralegal in Family law.
