Sedgewick Community Health Centre is looking to welcome a new Home Care Aide to its Home Care Team supporting the Flagstaff County Area. As a Home Care Aide and team member, you will demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our clients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide direct client centered care. Within the Home Care Interdisciplinary Team, the Home Care Aide is responsible for providing personal care and assisting with activities of daily living within the client’s authorized plan of care. The shifts for this position are 6-7.5 hours, days/evenings only. Flexibility is required as this is shift work in this area of care. Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory at https://www.albertahcadirectory.com/health-care-aides/confirmation/. Nursing students currently enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing program; or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered. Must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) with Heart and Stroke Foundation. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (GDL license is not acceptable) access to a reliable vehicle for business use. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position: This position requires frequent physical demands including walking, bending, lifting, and standing and driving for long periods of time. Transferring patients of varying sizes and degrees of mobility. Transporting supplies and equipment. Driving in all weather conditions. Basic computer skills knowledge of Outlook and MS Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience within the last 5 years in a Home Care environment. Medication Assistance Certification.
