Role Summary
OMG is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer – Microsoft 365 to join its IT team. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, support, and continuous improvement of OMG's Microsoft 365 platform and related services.
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, you will provide advanced technical expertise across Microsoft 365 and related technologies, leading complex implementations, troubleshooting critical issues, developing technical standards, and ensuring solutions are secure and effective. The role combines technical planning and architecture responsibilities with expert-level tier 3 administration, support, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
· Serve as OMG's senior technical expert for Microsoft 365 and related technologies.
· Design, implement, secure, and support Microsoft 365 services and related technologies.
· Evaluate new Microsoft technologies, features, and service enhancements; making recommendations on adoption.
· Develop and support technical standards, architecture documentation, operational procedures, and support documentation.
· Implement and support identity, endpoint management, security, compliance, and access control solutions based on Microsoft and industry best practices.
· Monitor platform health, performance, security, and reliability, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
· Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing expert-level tier 3 support.
· Support business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, resilience, and change management processes related to Microsoft technologies.
· Lead and contribute to Microsoft 365 projects
· Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and knowledge transfer to junior IT team members.

Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience, with a deep focus on Microsoft 365 architecture, administration, security, operations, and continuous improvement in an enterprise environment.
· Demonstrated experience as a senior technical expert, subject matter expert, architect, and escalation resource for Microsoft 365 technologies.
· University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline considered an asset; an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience will be considered.
· Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert (MS-102) and Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100) or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and experience, such that these certifications could be obtained quickly.
· CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), or similar security certification considered an asset.
· Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, administering, securing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Microsoft 365 services, including (but not limited to):
o Microsoft 365
o Microsoft Entra ID
o Microsoft Intune
o Microsoft Defender
o Microsoft Teams (including Teams Phone)
o Exchange Online
o SharePoint Online
o OneDrive for Business
o Conditional Access and Zero Trust controls
o Windows 11 Enterprise
o Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise
o Active Directory and hybrid identity environments
· Deep expertise in identity and access management, endpoint management, authentication, device compliance, security hardening, and Microsoft cloud security.
· Proven ability to assess requirements, recommend solutions, and plan, implement and support those solutions.
· Demonstrated ability to evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies, security recommendations, and service enhancements, and translate them into practical operational and architectural improvements.
· Experience with Microsoft Copilot, AI governance, Microsoft Purview, Power Platform, automation, and integration technologies, considered an asset.
This position has a starting salary of $80,000.00 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications, technical expertise, certifications, geographic location, and overall alignment with the requirements of the role. Compensation may vary to reflect local market conditions and cost of labor within the candidate’s work location.
Compensation at OMG is established on a role-specific basis, considering factors such as scope, complexity, accountability, value provided, experience and required expertise. Final compensation will vary from the expected amount depending on the successful candidate’s profile and the final scope of responsibilities.
