The position of driver is responsible for the safe delivery of petroleum products, while providing excellent customer service and being an ambassador for the company. This position reports directly to the GM. This is primarily a DZ driving position, however, there is a requirement to fill AZ driving shifts as required.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for the safe delivery of petroleum products to company stations or to customer’s location.
- Responsible for following all loading and unloading procedures properly, ensuring that all instructions on the Bill of Lading are followed correctly.
- Adherence to all requirements under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Perform pre-trip inspection checking for general operating requirements, ensuring that all equipment is in good operating condition, documenting and identifying any discrepancies on pre-trip inspection form.
- Ensure that all shipping documents are filled out correctly and dated.
- Follow all safety rules, regulations and operating procedures for loading facilities and unloading at stations and customer premises.
- Ensure that all placards are displayed.
- Ensure that truck is full of fuel, windows, and mirrors and cab interior are clean for next driver.
- Ensure the truck is adequately stocked with spill kit materials
- Delivery of oil and lubricant products when necessary.
- Both AZ and DZ driving will be required
- Ensure that all health, safety and security regulations are adhered to and required standards are met
- Maintain the building, equipment and property of the home terminal and ensuring they care kept neat and clean
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of high school, however the completion of post secondary education is considered an asset
- Must possess a valid AZ license
- Clean driver's abstract
- Must have minimum 3 years’ driving experience - Liquid handling preferred
- Must have B-train experience, and hauling heavy weight
- Must be willing to provide a clean police background check
- Physically demanding job – must be able to lift 70 lbs
- Must be willing to work as part of a team and autonomously when needed
- Possess good math skills.
- Possess excellent organization capabilities and attention to detail.
- Follow directions and ability to ask questions when unsure of circumstances.
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate (TDG) (Will train if needed)
- Demonstrated customer service orientation required
- Ability to adapt to changing daily needs of the organization
