About the Role
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Technician and Technical Services Representative (TSR) — Chassis, you will deliver on‑site mechanical expertise for chassis systems, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of heavy armored and tracked vehicles. You will perform hands‑on mechanical work, lead fault isolation and corrective actions, and support field deployments, inspections, and acceptance testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform heavy duty mechanical maintenance, repairs, and overhaul of chassis, suspension, driveline, braking, steering, and powertrain systems on armored/heavy vehicles
- Conduct diagnostics and fault isolation using hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and vehicle diagnostic systems
- Execute corrective repairs to component and subsystem level (fabrication/welding where required) and complete quality checks to ensure operational readiness
- Support field service activities, acceptance tests, and vehicle turn‑ups at customer sites and training ranges
- Read and apply technical manuals, wiring/hydraulic schematics, and technical bulletins to complete repairs to specification
- Prepare and maintain clear technical documentation: repair reports, deficiency logs, parts requests, and maintenance records
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and QA to resolve defects and advise on repairability and retrofits
- Follow and enforce safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures in shop and field environments
- Participate in training, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring (Required)
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician / Heavy Duty Mechanic certification or Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment, or a related field OR equivalent hands-on experience
· Strong mechanical troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair skills on chassis, driveline, hydraulic, and tracked suspension systems
- Experience with complex mechanical systems (e.g., heavy equipment, military vehicles, automotive, industrial machinery)
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, hydraulic/electrical schematics, and maintenance manuals
· Strong safety mindset, organized workmanship, and clear written/verbal communication skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work in field environments when required
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience with Leopard 2 platforms or other armored / tracked vehicles
- Military technical background (CAF or allied forces)
- Experience working with OEMs, defense contractors, or regulated technical environments
- Familiarity with maintenance documentation systems and technical reporting
Training Note: Candidates without platform‑specific experience (e.g., Leopard 2) are encouraged to apply — platform training will be provided for qualified Heavy Duty Mechanics / Heavy Equipment Technicians.

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
