Hi Five Chicken is looking for an energetic and customer-focused Team Member / Shift Supervisor to support the daily operations of our restaurant. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, maintaining food safety and quality standards, supervising team members during shifts, and ensuring efficient restaurant operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced quick-service restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members to provide outstanding guest service and maintain Hi Five Chicken brand standards.
- Ensure every guest is greeted promptly, orders are processed accurately, and service standards are consistently met.
- Prepare and serve menu items according to Hi Five Chicken recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Monitor food quality, product freshness, cooking temperatures, holding times, and food safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Food Safe regulations, sanitation requirements, and workplace safety standards.
- Operate the POS system, process cash and card transactions accurately, and complete end-of-shift cash reconciliation.
- Assist with receiving deliveries, inventory control, stock rotation (FIFO), product labeling, and waste reduction.
- Train new team members on food preparation, guest service, cleaning procedures, and company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, washrooms, equipment, and all customer-facing areas.
- Complete opening, shift, and closing duties, including cleaning and operational checklists.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with scheduling, shift coverage, labour control, inventory counts, and daily operations.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Support local marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns, and new product launches as directed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a quick-service restaurant or food service environment; supervisory experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, food handling, and workplace safety practices.
- Experience operating POS systems and handling cash accurately.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Food Safe Level 1 Certification is preferred (or willingness to obtain).
