ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Hotel General Manager, the Group Sales Manager is responsible for driving year-round group sales revenue by developing and expanding business across key market segments. This role builds and maintains strong relationships with group organizers, accommodation partners, tour operators, corporate clients, and other strategic partners to generate new business and maximize repeat bookings.
Working collaboratively with internal resort departments, the Group Sales Manager identifies new business opportunities, develops targeted sales strategies, and delivers exceptional customer service throughout the sales process. With a strong understanding of the resort's products, services, and target markets, this position is accountable for achieving revenue goals while enhancing the resort's reputation as a premier year-round destination.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to, qualify, and convert group, meeting, conference, wedding, and event inquiries into confirmed business.
- Accurately record and maintain all sales opportunities, client communications, and bookings within the property's sales management system.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.
- Achieve established sales, occupancy, and revenue targets through proactive business development and account management.
- Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with key partners, including tour operators, corporate clients, accommodation partners, wedding planners, event organizers, and community organizations.
- Proactively solicit new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, sales calls, referrals, and industry events.
- Develop strategies and initiatives to increase year-round group business and maximize resort revenue.
- Represent the resort at trade shows, industry events, networking functions, and sales missions as required.
- Foster long-term client relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Address and resolve client concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive guest experience.
- Promote the resort's hotel, conference, banquet, and event facilities through site inspections, presentations, and client tours.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales and promotional materials that support business development initiatives.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and revenue updates for the Hotel General Manager.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the resort's products, services, pricing, and business strategies, and develop action plans to achieve departmental goals.
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings and contribute to the resort's strategic planning and operational success.
- Work collaboratively with hotel operations, food and beverage, guest services, and other resort departments to ensure the successful execution of all group events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
CONDITIONS
- Full-time, year-round position with a flexible schedule based on seasonal business demands.
- Regular evening, weekend, and holiday work is required to support resort operations, client events, and business needs.
- Travel may be required to attend trade shows, networking events, sales missions, and industry conferences.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and clean drivers abstract.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Competitive salary: $52,800-$60,000 dependent on experience
