About the Role
Wheelking Transhaul Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Dispatch – Equipment Analyst to manage and monitor trailer inventory across customer locations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate tracking, utilization, and cost efficiency of company trailers by verifying placement, usage, and minimizing unnecessary rental expenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, real-time data of all trailers parked at customer locations.
- Track and validate whether trailers are:
- Actively requested/approved by the client, or
- Idle and incurring unnecessary detention/rental costs.
- Coordinate with dispatch, operations, and customers to confirm trailer requirements.
- Proactively identify unused or excess trailers and arrange for retrieval or reallocation.
- Monitor trailer dwell time and prepare reports on equipment utilization and cost exposure.
- Investigate discrepancies between internal systems and actual on-ground trailer counts.
- Work closely with billing and finance teams to prevent avoidable charges (detention, rent, yard storage).
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking through TMS, Fleet Manager, or other internal systems.
- Support dispatch team in planning equipment allocation based on operational demand.
- Generate daily/weekly reports on trailer status, movements, and inefficiencies.
- Communicate regularly with customer representatives to ensure alignment on trailer usage.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in dispatch, logistics coordination, or equipment control (preferably in transportation/trucking).
- Strong understanding of fleet operations, trailer utilization, and detention/demurrage concepts.
- Experience working with systems such as Fleet Manager.
- Excellent data accuracy, auditing, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with customers and internal teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (reporting, tracking, analysis).
- High attention to detail and accountability.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in asset tracking or equipment management in a trucking environment.
- Knowledge of customer yard operations and trailer pools.
- Experience with Transplus Fleet Manager.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
