Description:
The Health & Safety Manager plays a crucial role in promoting a positive health and safety
culture in the workplace ensuring compliance with safety legislation and safety policies. The
position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining health, safety and wellness
programs and procedures.
What you will be responsible for:
- Promote and champion a strong safety culture through regular presence on the hangar
floor, proactive hazard identification, risk assessments, inspections, and timely corrective
actions
- Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain health, safety, and environmental
policies, procedures, and programs that comply with applicable legislation, regulatory
requirements, and company standards
- Interprets and provides guidance and advice to all departments pertaining to the Canada
Labour Code Part II and associated Regulations ensuring the facility is in compliance
with Federal legislation and company policy
- Responsible for effective claims management including investigation of incidents,
completion of required forms, reporting on all workplace injury cases and managing
return to work program
- Oversee WSIB claims management and cost-containment initiatives, monitor trends,
and provide reporting and recommendations to management.
- Analyze workplace safety performance by tracking incidents, injuries, near misses, and
trends; identify root causes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
