Supply Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE)
(Daily Occasional/Long-Term Assignment)

The Avon Maitland District School Board is seeking qualified individuals who are passionate about supporting students with diverse needs and providing age-appropriate learning environments for our primary students.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours of Work: Casual/Call-in basis, Monday - Friday, from September to June (10 months)
Compensation Package Details:
Daily Rate: $25.03 per hour + vacation pay as outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement
Long Term Assignment Rate: $26.80 per hour + vacation pay as outlined in the OSSTF-ESSP Collective Agreement
Pension Plan: Defined pension plan through the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System ()

Core Responsibilities-
Partner with the classroom teacher to plan and implement a full-day early learning kindergarten program in a classroom setting.

Design and implement age-appropriate activities tailored to early childhood development.

Provide supervision and age-appropriate learning for groups of students as part of the extended day program, as required.
Qualifications
-
Minimum two-year community college Early Childhood Education diploma (or in the final year of the program)

Active registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of early Childhood Educators (or in process)

Recent experience as an ECE working in an Early Learning Centre or Day Care would be considered an asset

Demonstrated flexibility, patience, empathy and the ability to work closely with students with diverse needs, classroom teacher, and Administration

Ability to perform the essential physical duties of the position, such as lifting, positioning and transferring children and equipment

Access to a reliable method of transportation and ability to attend specific schools with flexible availability to accept assignments on a casual basis during the day and with short notice
