Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kennel Attendant/Maintenance Person to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our animals and staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to perform heavy lifting. Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and compassionate care to animals housed in the kennel, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring health and behavior.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and outdoor spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning equipment, repairing fences, and ensuring the overall safety of the facility.
- Assist with loading and unloading supplies or equipment, often requiring heavy lifting.
- Respond promptly to animal emergencies or behavioral issues with professionalism and compassion.
- Interact positively with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and answering questions about animal care.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure environment for animals, staff, and visitors.
Requirements
- Prior experience in animal care or customer service is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly (up to 50 pounds) safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanor for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Flexibility to work weekends or holidays if needed; reliability is essential for consistent animal care.
- Physical stamina and good health to handle the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks.
Pay: $17.20-$17.60 per hour
