Job Summary
We are excited to invite enthusiastic and skilled Sports Teachers to join our dynamic Summer Camp team! As a Summer Camp Sports Teacher, you will lead engaging and fun-filled physical education sessions for children, focusing on sports such as Soccer, Roller Skating, Yoga, and Taekwondo. The ideal candidate is passionate about promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and confidence in children through structured and enjoyable sports activities. This role involves planning and leading classes, ensuring safety during physical activities, and creating a positive and inclusive environment where campers feel encouraged to learn and grow.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured sports lessons in one or more of the following: Soccer, basketball,Roller Skating, Yoga, and Taekwondo.
- Adapt activities to various age groups and skill levels, promoting participation and enjoyment.
- Create a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment for all campers.
- Monitor student progress and provide individualized feedback and encouragement.
- Supervise campers during sports sessions and transitions between activities to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respectful behavior among all campers.
- Collaborate with fellow camp staff to coordinate camp-wide games, tournaments, and events.
- Communicate with parents or guardians when needed, providing updates on student participation and behavior.
- Uphold all camp policies, health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
Experience & Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching or coaching children in any of the following disciplines: Soccer,basketball, Roller Skating, Yoga, or Taekwondo.
- A background in physical education, kinesiology, coaching, or early childhood education is an asset.
- Certifications in First Aid/CPR and any relevant coaching or training licenses (e.g., Yoga certification, martial arts belt ranking, NCCP) are strongly preferred.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire children in a camp setting.
- Reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic team player with a genuine love for working with kids.
