Job Description
Perform comprehensive maintenance, repair, and service on heavy mobile equipment with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include diagnosing, assembling, installing, and maintaining machinery to ensure optimal performance.
SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY EXPECTATIONS
- Maintain compliance with all workplace safety standards and proactively address hazards.
- Keep accurate service records and communicate effectively with team members.
- Ensure shop and service vehicle cleanliness and readiness.
- Report all safety concerns promptly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field troubleshooting.
- Conduct weekly audits and minor repairs on drilling equipment (e.g., Jumbos).
- Inspect graders and other mining equipment for faults and performance issues.
- Diagnose malfunctions using computerized and manual testing tools.
- Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics (hydraulic and electrical).
- Repair or replace defective components and verify repairs to meet manufacturer specifications.
- Create work orders, enter time confirmations, source parts, and maintain accurate documentation independently.
- Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of equipment.
- Maintain service vehicles in optimal mechanical and organized condition.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Journeyperson trade certification required.
- 5–6 years of experience in heavy equipment repair (mining preferred).
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team under pressure.
- Proficient in troubleshooting hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs and working in confined spaces.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Pay: $50.00-$70.00 per hour
