Description:
Clinical Administrators are the face of the organization and are often the first and last person that our patients are in contact with. As ambassadors for the PCN, the Clinical Administrators have a direct impact on the patient experience by creating a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone they connect with.
Employment type: 0.8 FTE (30 hours/week) Part Time
Location: SASPCN Central Site (St. Albert Centre) Unit 196, 375 St. Albert Trail, St. Albert, AB
Salary: To be aligned with skill level starting at $21.00/hr
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., diploma in Medical Office Assistant or Business Administration.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting is preferred.
- Computer skills including Office 365, Word, Outlook, Excel, Electronic Medical Records (Healthquest), Netcare experience an asset.
- Patient-centered, respectful demeanor with effective written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in providing direct care to patients is an asset.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Administration:
- Providing patient booking with central services.
- Communication of consults to medical homes.
- Assisting clinicians and physicians with clinic workflow.
- Prepare exam and consult rooms and follow infection control best practices.
- Ensure patient vital signs and demographics are taken and documented.
- Collaborate with clinicians, colleagues and Director, Central Operations on items pertaining to efficiency.
- Assist in monitoring inventory of office and clinical supplies
Operations:
- Accurately logging information within the patient’s electronic medical record.
- Direct patient, community and physician inquiries.
- Professional and respectful correspondence.
- Attend staff meetings and group meetings.
Privacy:
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding patient records and information.
- Collect and record accurate patient demographic information and verify patient eligibility for healthcare coverage.
- Adhere to patient privacy guidelines in the Health Information Act and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), strictly uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Adapt and respond to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Build relationships with patients, team members, external stakeholders, and physicians.
