About Us

The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and four Research Centres. The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).


Western University's Health Ethics, Law, and Policy (HELP) Lab is seeking a Research Assistant to support a qualitative research project on the interpretation and operationalization of 'equity' across policy sectors. Primarily, the Research Assistant will assist in the analysis of previously collected qualitative interview data. Interested candidates should have experience conducting qualitative data analysis as well as a familiarity with philosophical dimensions of health equity, education equity, and/or social justice.   • Master's degree required in a relevant area of focus
  • 1 year of work experience supporting research in a related technical field
Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner
  • Familiarity with regulations and guidelines governing research
  • Familiarity with methods for research design, implementation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with experimental design and analysis
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document technical information
