An established and growing company is seeking an energetic, results-driven Regional Recruiter to support recruitment across our York Region operations.
This is a field-focused recruitment role for someone who enjoys being out in the community, connecting with people face-to-face, building local candidate pipelines, and finding creative ways to attract qualified applicants.
The ideal candidate is highly comfortable with Indeed and other online recruiting platforms, understands how to generate applicant flow, and knows that successful recruiting often means getting out from behind the computer and into the community.
The Role
As Regional Recruiter, you will take ownership of recruitment activities across multiple York Region locations. You will work closely with branch leadership to understand staffing needs and develop effective strategies to attract and retain qualified candidates.
A significant part of this role will involve field recruiting, including attending community events, job fairs, career fairs, local networking events, and other opportunities to meet potential candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment activities across multiple York Region branches
- Develop and maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and future staffing needs
- Create, post, manage, and optimize job advertisements on Indeed and other recruitment platforms
- Monitor job posting performance, applicant volume, and conversion rates
- Develop creative strategies to increase applications and improve candidate quality
- Conduct proactive candidate sourcing and outreach
- Attend job fairs, community events, career events, and other local recruiting opportunities
- Build relationships with community organizations, employment centres, schools, newcomer organizations, and other potential recruitment partners
- Develop local recruiting initiatives specific to each branch and community
- Screen applicants and conduct initial telephone or virtual interviews
- Coordinate interviews with branch management
- Maintain accurate candidate information and recruitment activity records
- Track recruitment metrics and provide regular updates to management
- Assist with onboarding and follow-up throughout the hiring process
- Identify recruitment challenges and recommend solutions
- Work closely with branch managers to ensure staffing needs are addressed quickly and effectively
Field Recruiting Is a Major Part of This Role
This position is ideal for someone who likes being out in the community.
You will be expected to actively promote employment opportunities, establish local contacts, attend recruiting events, and identify candidates where they live, work, and gather.
You should be comfortable approaching people, starting conversations, representing the organization professionally, and turning those conversations into potential candidates.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, staffing, or high-volume hiring
- Strong knowledge of Indeed and other online recruiting platforms
- Experience creating and optimizing job postings
- Understanding of online applicant sourcing and recruitment advertising
- Proven ability to generate applicant flow in competitive labour markets
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Confident conducting candidate screening and interviews
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple branches and competing priorities
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own recruitment schedule
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Experience tracking recruitment metrics and preparing reports is an asset
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation required
- Willingness to travel between York Region locations and attend community recruiting events

We are looking for someone who is proactive, resourceful, outgoing, and results-oriented.
You don't wait for candidates to find you. You know how to use recruiting platforms to generate applications, but you also understand the value of picking up the phone, attending an event, walking into the community, and making connections.
You are comfortable working with hiring managers, managing multiple recruitment campaigns, and adjusting your strategy when something isn't working.
Experience recruiting drivers, transportation employees, trades, or other high-volume hourly positions is considered a strong asset.
