Position Summary
The main purpose of the Machine Operator is to operate, adjust, and set-up assigned mill lines independently while meeting all production, quality, and safety requirements. This process involves loading and setting up steel coils and feeding steel strips through roll forms. The Machine Operator will monitor machinery, bundle pieces, and monitor the roll forming process.
What you’ll do:
- Load steel coil onto uncoilers
- Tighten uncoiler and cut straps on the coil
- Guide the steel into the processing areas (rolls)
- Set up or adjust rolls and conduct quality inspections for product conformance
- Gather products, strap into bundles, and apply identification
What you’ll need:
- 1-2 yrs. Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. We will train those with no experience
- Ability to properly use measuring equipment/tools such as tape measures (imperial & metric), calipers etc.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written in English
- Willingness to learn and be trained
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines (Production requirements)
