Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work under very little supervision as well as work effectively in a team environment. Able to maintain poise under pressure, be able to prioritize and organize work in a fast paced environment. Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive manner. Must have a proven record of maintaining privacy and confidentiality with sensitive information and situations. Accurate keyboarding skills: testing will be administered during the recruitment process and only candidates who achieve 40 wpm (corrected for errors, max 5 errors) will proceed to the interview phase. Knowledge and operation of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must be able to provide clerical services for Health Records. Must be physically able to perform duties involving sitting, standing, bending, walking, and stretching for extended periods of time. Must be able to read, write, speak, and communicate effectively using the English language.

Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Office Assistant course (or equivalent). Health Care experience including experience with an Admission/ Discharge/Transfer program, preferably Meditech. Medical Terminology course (there is the requirement to complete course within 3 months of hire if not completed previously). Switchboard experience. Basic knowledge of accounting.
