As a Secretary, you will:
Perform a variety of secretarial and other related clerical functions to support the Manager and other designated program staff.
Act as a receptionist, greet and direct visitors and residents, answer telephone calls and prioritize requests, provide information as appropriate and/or redirects as necessary.
Arrange meetings, distribute agenda packages, attend designated meetings, take minutes and follows-up on actions as a result of the meeting.
Type a variety of technical and non-technical material from verbal instruction, handwritten draft and/or through revision of documents by effectively using computer skills in wordprocessing, spreadsheet and database programs.
Compile statistics and produce various computerized and manual reports.
Assemble and prepare orientation packages for new employees.
Maintain equipment and stationary supplies and establish and maintains filing systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Grade 12 plus two (2) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to keyboard at 55 w.p.m.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.
