Our client, a global property restoration company, is currently seeking a Full-Time Repair & Restoration Technician to support the team at their busy office location in Owen Sound, ON. This role directly supports the restoration division by utilizing a variety of intermediate and advanced carpentry skills across a variety of residential, commercial and industrial projects. This is a full-time permanent position with wages starting between $26 to $30 per hour based on experience.

About The Role
The Repair & Restoration Technician contributes significantly to meeting the goals and requirements of both the organization and the insurance companies associated with each restoration project. In this role, the selected candidate will have knowledge of and be capable to perform tasks related to restoration projects including reading blueprints, interpreting work orders, applying building codes, managing materials, and executing duties in an accurate manner. Dedication to delivering high-quality results, consistently meeting deadlines and providing superior customer service are the keys to success in this position. Other tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing Restoration Tasks in Line with Residential & Commercial Construction Projects from Site Preparation to Job Completion
- Identifying & Communicating Any Issues Affecting Job Completion with Project Manager to Ensure Project Timelines & Customer Satisfaction
- Fostering Customer Satisfaction by Maintaining Professionalism Through Prompt & Accurate Communications with Clients, Subcontractors, Insurance Adjustors & Other Stakeholders
- Ensuring Safe & Compliant Work Environments by Conducting Hazard Assessments & Following Required Health & Safety Requirements of Both the Organization & OHSA
- Maintaining Organized Job Sites Through Ensuring Proper Use, Maintenance, & Storage of Tools, Equipment, & PPE
- Any Other Reasonable Duties as Assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Proficient in Basic Math Skills including General Construction Math & Measurements
- Ability to Perform Sustained Physical Tasks Requiring Mobility in Confined Spaces & Working at Heights as Needed
- Periodic Travel & Fluctuating Job Site Locations
- Valid Driver’s License & Ability to Provide Clean Driver’s Abstract
Qualifications
- At Least 1+ Year of Experience within the Construction, Restoration or Insurance Industries
- Proficiency Using Computers Including Microsoft Office & Google Suite
- Strong Written & Verbal Communication Skills
- Ability to Work Independently with Minimal Supervision & as Part of a Collaborative Team
- Exceptional Organizational Skills with Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks/Competing Priorities
- High Level of Discretion, Sound Judgment & Unwavering Professionalism
- Strong Problem-Solving Abilities & Proactive Mindset
This role would be ideal for someone with experience in Carpentry, Contents Management, Project Management, Construction, Disaster Restoration or Flood & Fire Clean-up.
