We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and HR Administrator for a Guleph organization. This role is vital in managing payroll processes, human resources functions, and maintaining accurate employee records. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, proficiency with various HRIS and a solid understanding of payroll and human resources operations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to efficient HR management and payroll accuracy within a dynamic organization.
Duties
- Process accurate biweekly payroll for 3 legal entities across 5 provinces, for both unionized and non-unionized employees
- Manage data entry related to employee information, timekeeping, and payroll transactions
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations
- Assist with human resources functions including onboarding, benefits administration, and employee inquiries
- Prepare reports and analysis on payroll data, attendance, and HR metrics for management review
- Ensure timely processing of employee payments and deductions while adhering to confidentiality standards
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial payroll legislation
- Process Records of Employment (ROEs), salary adjustments, step increases, retroactive payments, and garnishments
- Administer time and attendance, as well as employee time-off tracking
- Support pension and benefits administration, including reporting
- Ensure compliance with WSIB/WCB requirements
- Produce payroll reports, analytics, and reconciliations
- Participate in year-end payroll activities (e.g., T4s, audits)
- Other payroll related duties
Experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation (federal and provincial)
- College diploma or university degree in Human Resources, Payroll, or a related field·
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems ( ADP) expense platforms (e.g., Nexonia)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Familiarity with human resources processes including data entry, account reconciliation, and benefits administration
- Prior experience in payroll processing, human resources management or related fields preferred
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data accurately
- Experience with accounts payable/receivable functions is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and record keeping·
- Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) designation is considered an asset
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset
