We are seeking motivated, safety-focused CWB Welders who take pride in producing quality workmanship in demanding industrial environments.
Position Summary
The CWB Welder is responsible for performing structural, mechanical, and fabrication welding activities in accordance with approved welding procedures, engineering drawings, CWB standards, and project specifications. Successful candidates will work alongside experienced tradespeople while maintaining Millennium's commitment to safety, productivity, and workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Perform SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and other welding processes as required.
- Complete structural steel fabrication and installation.
- Perform repairs to mining and industrial equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
- Complete field fit-up and welding of structural and mechanical components.
- Operate oxy-fuel and plasma cutting equipment.
- Perform grinding, gouging, beveling, and preparation of weld joints.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance.
- Maintain welding machines, tools, and assigned equipment.
- Assist with rigging, material handling, and equipment installations.
- Complete required documentation including inspection reports and FLHAs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work safely in underground and surface mining environments.
Qualifications
- Valid CWB Welding Certification (Asset).
- Journeyperson Welder Certification preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial or mining experience preferred.
- Experience with structural steel and heavy plate welding.
- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and welding procedures.
- Experience working around conveyors, crushers, hoists, mills, and mining equipment is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Ability to obtain site security clearances where required.
