Summary of Position
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, growth, and profitability of the business, with full accountability for P&L performance and day-to-day operations. This role will drive revenue and EBITDA growth, leads strategic expansion initiatives, builds high-performing teams, and ensures operational excellence across all functions. As the senior operating leader, the General Manager sets the standard for performance, uses data-driven decision-making, and delivers sustainable business results while strengthening the company's reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Business Management
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for business performance, culture, and strategic direction
- Own P&L results, including revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, budgeting, and business planning
- Lead the organization using data-driven decision-making, clear accountability, and continuous improvement
- Operational Excellence
- Oversee manufacturing, inventory management, quality, safety, maintenance, and production performance
- Drive operational efficiencies, cost control, working capital management, and process standardization
- Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, environmental, and health & safety requirements
- Commercial Growth & Sales Management
- Lead sales strategy, revenue growth, forecasting, and customer relationship management
- Develop strategic partnerships with contractors, distributors, government agencies, and key accounts
- Expand market presence through tender opportunities, new business development, e commerce, and U.S. market growth initiatives
- Strategic Growth
- Execute business expansion initiatives, including U.S. market entry and product qualification programs
- Establish scalable processes, documented procedures, KPI reporting, and institutional business practices
- Support audits, financial reporting, banking relationships, and ownership-level reporting
- People & Culture
- Identify the need for recruitment and retain high-performing employees and leaders
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and performance excellence o Lead performance management, succession planning, and recommend employee development initiatives
Requirements:
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably within coatings, chemicals, building products, or industrial manufacturing
- Proven P&L accountability for a business or business unit with revenues in the $15M–$50M range
- Demonstrated success driving revenue growth through government, municipal, institutional, or infrastructure related markets
- Strong business development and account management skills, with a track record of winning and growing customer relationships
- Experience selling to contractors and infrastructure-focused organizations, with the ability to build credibility across all levels of an organization
- Strong operational and financial acumen, including budgeting, costing, margin management, and working capital oversight
- Ability to lead across manufacturing operations, commercial functions, and strategic business initiatives
