Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grinder/Polisher to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precision grinding and polishing of metal components, ensuring they meet strict quality standards. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to support high-quality production. Duties
- Operate grinding and polishing equipment to refine metal parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to ensure accurate fabrication
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and welding tools
- Perform quality control checks using calipers and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and surface finishes
- Set up and adjust CNC programming for machining operations as needed
- Assist with assembly, welding (including MIG welding), and other manufacturing processes when required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and lean manufacturing principles
- Support warehouse activities including material handling with forklift operation if certified
- Collaborate with team members to optimize machining processes for efficiency and precision
Skills
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Experience with CNC programming, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC controls
- Knowledge of welding techniques including MIG welding
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and press brake machines
- Familiarity with SolidWorks for part design or modification is a plus
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, calipers, and other precision measurement devices
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tolerances
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and quality control standards
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation (certification preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining, assembly, and manufacturing processes
- Experience working with CNC equipment such as CNC milling machines or CNC lathes is highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
