We are seeking an experienced and professional Truck Driver. The successful candidate will join an established and growing company, building some of Calgary’s most prominent landscape projects. The Truck Driver works with the logistics manager to deliver equipment and materials in a safe and timely manner around the Calgary region. Drivers will inspect their vehicles, load materials and equipment and haul out of our Balzac yard on a daily basis. Specific Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Work with the logistics manager to deliver equipment and materials in a safe and timely manner around the Calgary region
- Load and transport construction equipment (Skid steer, Mini Excavator etc)
- Secure loads and equipment to DOT standards
- Document, track, and manage timesheets and materials
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals and brakes
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
- Communicate with the Construction Manager and Foremen to minimize confusion and wasted trips and mix-ups
- Follow and document safety procedures
- Follow traffic laws
- Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel
- Keep commercial drivers license up to date
- May perform emergency roadside repairs
- Client and quality focused
- Work efficiently without supervision
- Report any vehicle accidents immediately to the Construction Manager and also to the Police if it is serious
- Maintain cleanliness of trucks, both cab and exterior
Requirements:
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and digital)
- Time management skills
- An outstanding driving record without accidents or major traffic violations
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to work for long hours (between 8 & 12)
- Able to adapt to a changing schedule
- Class 1 (3 Years driving experience required)
- Knowledge of the Calgary area and navigating with GPS
- Formal education and certifications are an asset
Regular full time shifts are Monday to Friday. Compensation will be based on experience. We look forward to hearing from you!
