Southland Pharmacy is looking for a Staff Pharmacist to join our team in Vancouver!
Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Staff Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescribed medication to patients. They will ensure that prescriptions are filled according to the correct dosages and amounts and counsel and advise patients on how prescriptions are to be consumed. They will also educate and advise patients and clients on drug interactions, potential side-effects that can be expected and on how to counter them. This is a full time role and will include rotating weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day Pharmacy Dispensary operations, receiving, preparation, packaging, dispensing, distribution and storage of drugs and pharmaceuticals
- Clinical responsibilities including but not limited to drug use evaluation, medication reviews, adaptations, injection administration, prescription and non-prescription counseling and recommendations
- Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring and mixing the quantities of drugs and other ingredients required and filling appropriate containers with correct quantity
- Collaboration with other Health care professionals and Community partners
- The role requires comfort with community outreach and engaging with patients and community partners outside a traditional pharmacy environment. The position will work off‑site for two hours followed by the remainder of the shift on‑site at the pharmacy.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must be practicing at Pharmacist’s full scope without restrictions
- Must be knowledgeable and well-versed on CPBC’s Provincial legislations and Pharmacare’s billing policies
- Must be injection certified and completed OAT-CAMPP Training
- Scheduling flexibility (adaptive to changing work schedules and routines)
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple demands and establishing work priorities and goals.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Pay: $50.00-$51.00 per hour
