Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in food preparation and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. As a Prep Cook, you will assist in the meal preparation process, maintain food safety standards, and support the overall efficiency of our restaurant operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring vegetables and proteins.
- Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the kitchen manager.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are strictly followed during food handling and preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including utensils and equipment.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Participate in daily kitchen operations, including setting up and breaking down workstations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or as a cook in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with other staff members.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn more about meal preparation techniques.
