ROLE: Power Engineer
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor
LOCATION: Burnaby, BC
SHIFT: Monday to Friday afternoons 4pm to 12am (or as scheduled)
We are looking for a Maintenance – Class 5 Power Engineer Boiler Operator to join our Operationsteam! Our Power Engineer role will primarily be responsible for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining all boilers and auxiliary equipment requirements. Working with maintenance team to safely maintain production equipment and find cost saving solutions for future asset investments!

We are searching for a Class 5 Power Engineer to maintain industrial boilers and auxiliary equipment in a prompt, efficient, and safe manner. The Class 5 Power Engineer’s responsibilities will include working directly with the maintenance team in maintaining production equipment to support production and the safe running of the equipment.

Skills & experience
- Extensive knowledge of industrial boiler operation and maintenance.

Must have
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical/vocational school training and experience working with industrial boilers.
- Valid minimum Class 5 Power Engineer operator license.
things you will do…
Responsibilities
- Performs routine maintenance on boiler equipment and systems.
- Maintains low-pressure boilers, high-pressure boilers, power boilers, steam boilers, or hot water heating systems.
- Replaces defective valves, filters, or steam gauges.
- Monitors boiler system to ensure it is operating safely and properly; facilitates periodic boiler cleaning.
- Tests boiler water for corrosive deposits and treats the water with chemicals to prevent buildup.
- Maintains and updates required records for boiler operations.
- Addresses any problems with boiler systems and notifies maintenance when needed.
- Contacts supervisor concerning potentially dangerous equipment or safety violations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Pay: $34.00-$38.00 per hour
