Job Description: Nutrition Manager

Areas of Responsibility: Member of the organization’s Leadership Team. Facilitate the biannual menu implementation process in consultation with residents and registered dietitian. Ensure the preparation of meals according to the menu, ensuring that all legislative requirements are met for residents, community clients, and daycare children. Oversee and assist with the quality dining experience for residents and seniors independent living. Coordinate the Resident Food Committee and participate on various committees i.e. Quality. Work cooperatively with the registered dietitian to ensure appropriate and necessary nutritional care is provided to each resident and implement nutritional interventions as directed by the registered dietitian. Ensure that all dietary functions are performed in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. Responsible for the hiring, orientation, supervision, scheduling, and training of dietary staff. Budget and manage purchasing specifications including food and dietary equipment and supplies, maintain inventory records, and statistical data. Ensure all Ministry of Long-Term Care and Public Health requirements are met. Maintain excellent documentation systems. Contribute to a positive environment that ensures the mission, vision, and values of West Huron Care Centre/Blue Water Rest Home are upheld.
Qualifications: Graduate from a recognized Food Service Management Program Member in good standing in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management or Registered Dietitian Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate Minimum 3 years experience in a Long-Term Care Home, and 2 years management experience Labour relations experience is an asset Experience with Point Click Care, Meal Suite computer order system and dining solution is an asset
