Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-oriented Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter / Inspector to join our team in the St. Paul / Lakeland region. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and rigorous inspection of water-based fire protection and life safety systems in compliance with NFPA standards and local building codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance (ITM) on commercial and industrial fire sprinkler and suppression systems.
- Install, alter, and repair various sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge configurations.
- Troubleshoot system issues and accurately diagnose faults or deficiencies.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and NFPA codes to ensure precise system compliance.
- Generate clear, detailed inspection reports using mobile reporting software/tablets.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with clients and property owners on-site.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certification: Valid Interprovincial Red Seal or Alberta Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter Certificate is required.
- Experience: Proven experience in both fire sprinkler system installation and NFPA inspections.
- Licence: Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean commercial driving abstract (to operate the company service vehicle).
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting skills, and comfort utilizing mobile tablets for daily reporting.
- Attributes: Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently in the field with minimal supervision.
