Courseware Developer
Montréal, QC

Genetec is seeking a courseware developer to design, update and develop Genetec’s product and technology training courses, for internal and external audiences. The position involves collaborating with multiple teams to evaluate new products, identify learning objectives and key audiences, develop instructional materials and tools to support classroom and online learning, and to ensure trainers are kept informed of updates through train-the-trainer activities.


  • Analyze learning requirements associated with upcoming products and features
  • Synchronize content with Genetec’s R&D Product Groups, Technical Writing and Support teams
  • Design courses around audience objectives, while maintaining modularity and consistency within Genetec’s course catalog
  • Develop materials for classroom training, online instructor-led, and self-paced courses, including presentation slides, training exercises, scenario-based exams, and reference videos
  • Ensure course certification criteria are aligned with skills required for successful deployment, maintenance and operation of Genetec’s products
  • Follow standard courseware development, review, and continuous improvement processes
  • Deliver occasional courses at Genetec’s Montreal office to employees and customers to gather feedback and refine materials
  • Ensure trainer readiness through train-the-trainer activities
  • Recommend tools and infrastructure, including hardware kits and digital course resources, to support learning activities


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience delivering technical presentations or technical training courses
  • Ability to clearly communicate how technology works to a range technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to learn products quickly, formulate teaching strategies, and create compelling learning content
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, both written and verbal
  • Recognized has a great team player, with an ability to facilitate collaboration between teams

Technical Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Excellent knowledge of networking principles and the Internet Protocol
  • Experience with storage, database, and client-server architectures


  • Knowledge of IP Video Surveillance, Access Control, and ALPR
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectures and cybersecurity concepts
