Position Summary
The successful candidate will join the Human Resources Service Centre team responsible for the full-cycle processing of bi-weekly and monthly payroll for approximately 11,000 employees.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

processing payroll information for bi-weekly and monthly payroll including staff salary payments, benefits, pension deductions and time and absence reporting
-
coordinating the accumulation of benefits and payroll deductions in accordance with current legislation, plan documents, board policies, regulations and collective agreement requirements

verifying payroll changes In PeopleSoft and ensuring accuracy

calculating and entering payments for employees in receipt of WCB, maternity supplement payments and vacation payouts

reviewing and auditing vacation and sick plan eligibility and accruals
-
preparing supplementary payments according to Canadian Revenue Agency guidelines
Education/Qualifications
-
certificate in accounting or a related field
-
Canadian Payroll Association designation
-
minimum two years of payroll experience in union and non-unionized environments
-
knowledge of Human Resources policies, practices and procedures
-
knowledge of Canadian Revenue Agency and Employment Insurance regulations, Labour Standards, Access to Information Act and the Protection of Privacy Act, and WCB
-
advanced Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- solid understanding of PeopleSoft and Payroll for North America

strong mathematical, analytical problem solving and data entry skills

excellent communication and customer service skills
-
ability to work within tight deadlines
Rate of Pay
$29.44 - $34.42 per hour
