Canada Pump and Power is looking for experienced, certified Commercial Divers / Marine Equipment Operators to support upcoming projects in the Calgary and Edmonton region.
This is a hands-on, project-based role for divers who are comfortable working in challenging environments, supporting marine operations, and helping our teams safely complete underwater construction, maintenance, inspection, and equipment-related work.
Our dive and marine crews take on unique, complex, and demanding jobs — and we’re looking for people who are ready to go below the surface to get the work done safely and professionally.
As a Commercial Diver / Marine Equipment Operator, you will:

Perform underwater construction, maintenance, inspection, and support tasks as directed by the supervisor

Operate and assist with marine equipment such as boats, barges, and dredges

Support safe project execution in marine, industrial, and construction environments

Complete Field Level Risk Assessments using Nektar

Follow company Safe Work Policies, Practices, Procedures, and client requirements

Identify, report, and help correct hazards, near misses, incidents, and unsafe conditions
-
Work within company, client, and regulatory standards related to the scope of work
-
Communicate clearly with supervisors, crew members, clients, and subcontractors
-
Assist with additional site, marine, or project-related duties as required

High school diploma or equivalent
-
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
-
Minimum 3 years of acceptable driving history

Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
-
Experience operating marine equipment such as boats, barges, or dredges
-
Ability to work safely in physically demanding marine and industrial environments
-
Strong awareness of hazards, changing conditions, and crew communication
-
Willingness to travel for project-based work

DCBC Certification — required

Current physician-approved Diver Medical Certification
-
Marine Emergency Duties MED A3 or SDV-BS
-
SVOP Certification required to operate boats

Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with acceptable driving record

You will work closely with other employees, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors to complete projects safely and efficiently.
Candidates must be able to:

Work long day or night shifts up to 12 hours

Work with irregular break schedules depending on project needs

Move safely over, around, and through obstacles

Lift, carry, and handle heavy or awkward loads up to 20 kg
-
Perform physically demanding work in outdoor and marine environments
Job Type: Fixed-term contract / Casual / Project-based
Additional Pay: Overtime pay
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, day shift, night shift, and overtime as required
Travel: Up to 100% depending on project location and schedule
